If you're new here, pull up a chair. I want to tell you how we ended up building a newsletter about parasites. Trust me, I didn't see this coming either.
For years, I was doing everything "right." Eating well. Staying active. Checking all the boxes. But my body kept telling a different story. Constant bloating. Random skin flare-ups. Jaw pain so intense some days I could barely talk. I kept pushing through, assuming it would sort itself out.
Then I went on a trip to the Amazon. Bea was supposed to come with but came down with Covid and had to skip. We'd both said it would be a great way to get over our fear of bugs.
Ironic, right?
Because I didn't come home afraid of the bugs outside. I came home with a completely new awareness of the ones living inside us. How we pick them up. Why they exist. And how shockingly little anyone ever talks about them.
After that trip, things got worse. On top of everything physical, I started feeling anxious and low in a way that didn't feel like mine. Like something was off at a level I couldn't explain.
One night I prayed for clarity. The next day, I came across a video on parasites that listed almost every symptom I'd been living with.
I felt it in my gut. No pun intended. I just knew.
So I went all in. Papaya seeds. Wormwood. Black walnut. Sauna sessions. Detox protocols. If it existed, I tried it. The first stretch was brutal. The detox felt worse than the symptoms. But something in me said keep going.
So I did.
And then everything shifted.

My energy came back. The anxiety lifted. The jaw pain disappeared. My skin cleared. The bloating that had followed me around for years was just gone. I felt like myself again. Actually, better. Like I was finally meeting the version of me that had been buried under all of it.
Here's the part that really got to me though. When I started digging into this, there was almost nothing out there. Doctors I talked to were confused or dismissive. Friends in medicine told me parasites were barely a footnote in their training. This massive piece of human health, and almost no one was having the conversation.
That's what led me and Bea to start this newsletter.
Not to scare you. Not to make you paranoid about every meal or mosquito bite. We started this because the topic deserves to feel approachable. Parasites are real. They're more common than you think. But fear isn't the move. Awareness is.
The goal is simple. Understand your body a little better. Feel strong, energized, and resilient. Pick up practical ways to reduce your exposure without losing your mind over it.
